I´m Amanda and I work as a composer. Coming from a classical music background, I create worlds that are shaped by the sound of my inner voice.
I am fascinated by the possibility of combining modern technology with traditional ways of crafting music. Pen and paper are in my use, and I craft my music thoroughly until I introduce it to the electronic sound world, often combining digital and hardware mediums. I strive to create a consciously crafted, unique sounding world.
As a woman I represent less than 3,9% of the people working full time in the music industry. It´ s a small quota.
Growing up in Northern Lapland, I began my music studies at the Music Institute of Lapland at the age of 4, and ever since I´ve slowly grown into the musician I am today. I studied music at the Music College “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin Germany , and earned my Master ´s Degree from the Leipzig College for Music in Leipzig, Germany, continuing with a post-graduate degree in applied composition at Escola Superior de Música in Lisbon, Portugal.
I divide my life between Lisbon, Portugal, Berlin, Germany, and northern Lapland, mixing the influences of these polar opposites, finding the beat of a fast city and the stubborn natural power of a northern country within the essence that is my music.
This is my journey.
